Before you approve a pay run, the agent compares it with the last approved run and lists what stands out: people without bank details or PAN, zero pay, people missing from the run, joiners and leavers paid for the full month, net pay changes of 20% or more with the likely reason, loss-of-pay spikes, lines on hold and pay items still waiting. The checks are exact; the agent then writes a short brief for the approver.
